POSITIVE FEEDBACK LEFT FOR THE LADIPO PRIDE AND JOY EFFECTS PEDAL
Hi Rhys, I took delivery of one of your pedals yesterday. I played a small club that night, and I didn't have a chance to test the pedal before the gig. I'm not a big fan of pedals, but I was using an old Silvertone 1432--an amp I really love--which is a one channel amp that requires a pedal to boost volume and gain for leads. I usually use a an MI Audio Blues Pro (a Tube Screamer clone) & a Bixonic Expandora with this amp.
I threw your pedal on the pedal board thinking that I would use my usual pedals most of the night, but kick yours in a couple of times to get a taste of what it might do. I was playing an old LesPaul with P90s, and, I kid you not, after I kicked in your pedal the first time, I didn't use any other pedal for the rest of the night. I just left the gain and the tone knobs at 12 O'Clock, and that old Silvertone SOUNDED LIKE A VIOLIN WITH AN EDGE!
As a point of fact, a guy who plays guitar for a great--and heavily-booked--local band, and who has one of the sweetest tones in the area, came up to me during a break and asked what pedal I had been using.
I'm used to being approached me about my amp from time to time, but I've never had anyone come up to me and ask me about a pedal!
I have owned many overdrives but you have set the bar so high with this one that I believe it will become 'The Overdrive' by which all others shall be measured by all who experience playing through it."

"Hi Rhys, I compared this pedal with the famous Ibanez TS808 and a TS9, but the TS808 is really empty. You don't get a real Stevie sound from them. The TS9 was even worse.
I think that if Stevie still lived, he would buy the P&J, no doubt about that. I play all kinds of music but my heart belongs to Stevie Ray Vaughan & Jimi Hendrix. I think that Rhys Ladipo took a piece from Stevie's soul and put it in this pedal. The Pride and joy gives me inspiration, it really improves my guitar playing."

Hello again Rhys, I love the pedal. It's absolutely my favorite overdrive pedal ever, and I've had 'em all. It has everything I want in a pedal -rich, full, natural-sounding overdrive - and none of the things I don't want - thinness, brittleness, spikiness.
Bravo - you've nailed something that people have been after for a long time.

Yes it's good to see her, Rhys. But not only is she a "looker" she has a complimentary personality to back it up.
Let's just say that my ears love hearing what's "between" hers and its quite astonishing the many personalities that can be coaxed out of her.
Gently caress the Pride and Joy and she is smooth and silky. Dig down with more authority though, and an aggressive beast emerges that bites, all while still maintaining the musical harmonics of the notes and chords being played.
The Pride and Joy nails the Albert King/ SRV sound as no other device can, and that should be reason enough alone for any guitarist to want her as part of their rig.
What impresses me the most is her ability to express the a player's individual emotional tone- the one that comes from the heart, mind and fingers. There is no homogenizing here. Nothing gets lost. Its that good.
It was by good chance that I stumbled upon your site that day- I don't even recall what I was browsing for at the time. But the more I read the testimonials from your customers the more I began to fantisize the type of musical relationship I could forge with her.
I'll take good care of my Pride and Joy and am sure that I will receive a lifetime of that in return.

Hello Rhys, I want to thank you for the P&J Pedal I recieved yesterday. It is without a doubt the best overdrive I have ever played through. The clarity is amazing!
The Tone control is just out of this world and the Overdrive is everthing I could ask for, and more, in a Tube Overdrive.
I have owned many overdrives but you have set the bar so high with this one that I believe it will become 'The Overdrive' by which all others shall be measured by all who experience playing through it. Such great quality cannot be overlooked.

"Put your amp on a fairly clean setting, put a blindfold on, twiddle the knobs, leave on any setting and whatever you do you'll end up with an imminently useable sound.
They're all in there: Rory Gallagher, Robin Thrower, Walter Trout, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Albert King and everybody else you always wanted to sound like!
But more importantly you'll keep sounding like yourself: no unwanted coloration, it's still YOUR playing style and YOUR guitar!

Does everything a good TS808 emulation should do! It doesn't change the guitar or amplifier sound and you can still use the guitar-volume to control everything: tone, amount of drive, bite, you name it! It doesn't equal the originals built quality. It's much BETTER & MORE & much than that in a way only a handmade pedal can.
...all my questions and/or suggestions have been answered immediately and adequately. I have every reason to believe that the years warranty as supplied with the pedal a) will not have to be called upon and b) if a problem or query should arise it will be dealt with swiftly and efficiently."

"Hi Rhys, I just tested out the P&J & I had to send you this mail...stante pede ! Why? Because I'm happy, I'm VERY happy ... ! Why ? Because this is the best pedal I've ever heard ... after searching 15 years for Stevie's tone, I FINALLY got it! With my 1972 strat, the P&J and my 1967 Super Reverb I finally got that raw, warm, full and vintage signature SRV tone ... instant tone heaven!
And you know what ? "Dear Rhys, the pedal is amazing better than I ever imagined. Its given me the sound I've always wanted. I played it through a transistorized amp it made it sound like an expensive tube amp. I played it on a strat with kinman pickups its bloody marvellous!
You've certainly cracked that killer tone I'm amazed that the top pros are not using it. I've got an Ibanez Tube king pedal I paid a lot of money for it about twenty years ago & its got a valve in it. Your pedal blows it out of the water.

"Hi Rhys, Wow! One word AWESOME!!! The pedal sounds amazing I play a 94 Fender Stratocaster (I've recently upgraded the pickups to Lace Custom Shop Ultra Hot Gold Sensors) through a Fender Frontman amp.

I've been searching for that sound in my head for years and now I got it thanks to you! I've tried nearly every overdrive/tubescreamer on the market and couldn't find that raunchy texas sound in any of them.
I've got a TS808, TS9, TS10, Jacques Tube Blower, every pedal that says 'Tube' or 'Overdrive' on it. I just played 'Mary Had A Little Lamb' and 'Pride And Joy' with my amp and it sounds exactly like the original track Stevie did!
I liked your letter too, I play 12s on my Strat anyway and it sounds so much better than 9s or 10s, and I also tune down to Eb. I'm gonna use it tonight with the jam night I got going, can't wait to use it on 'Texas Flood' I just know it's going to sound awesome.
I use a Carvin Nomad 55w valve amp and WOW, just blew my head off!! I also just played it through my Peavey Special which is a tranny and it still sounds great, but the Carvin definately pushes it to the limit more (as valve amps do!) Anyways, I could write all day about it, just wanted to say mega thanks and now it's my sweet little thing, it's my Pride And Joy!

Hi Rhys, I am knocked out with the P&J, it's everything you said it would be and more...I've used it live for 6 gigs now and it's great for everything from soft bluesy numbers right up to screaming metal (not that I partake too much) and all tones in between!
I love the fact that it has a true by-pass and doesn't mess up my guitar/amp's tone.. it's so easy to use (3 knobs!) and veeeery quiet (no hiss, hum or crackle).
I usually play a USA standard strat through a Fender DeVille with a trio of Electro Harmonics pedals (Holy Grail, Small Clone & Small Stone).
The combination of the P&J and Small Stone on a slow sweep with max colour makes me shiver...
I will be adding a straight 10 on Harmony Central.

Funny you should ask about sound samples of P.J.but i work (part time) at a rehearsal/recording studio, so i have the opportunity to do just that.

"Hi Rhys, have used the pride & joy pedal at all my gigs since receiving it, I would rate it as a (must have) unit. I have been using a TS808 for years, but this pedal is something else!
Its Quite, no discolouration to guitar sound, true bypass, put the knobs were you like and you will still get a good sound. The Build quality is excellent!
To anyone reading this, if you are in to S.R.V. JIMI, (Texas Blues) dont bother searching for vintage overpriced pedals! One of these is all you will ever need.

Hi Rhys,have recorded some sound clips with the P&J at the studio. Equipment used was, Squire Strat, Roland Bluescube Solid State Trannsistor Combo Amplifier.
The reason for this was we did not want any (Help) by using expensive gear. The Pride And Joy is doing all the work!!!
Track three is a friend of ours Lee Slater who was guitarist with Paul Dianno, (Iron Maidens Original Singer) Lee is doing his version of a Hendrix type theme.

Hey Rhys. All I can say is wow! This pedal is EXACTLY what I have been looking for. When I set up my pedalboard and plugged in today I noticed that my tone sounded better than usual and I didn't even realize that the P&J was on.
That just blew me away, this thing is totally transparent and just overdrives my tone perfectly. My old tube screamer reissue is a total P.O.S. compared to this work of art. Thank you very much for this high-quality pedal. I am sure it will have a place with me for the rest of my career.

"Hello there friend...Just wanted to let you know that I purchased your pedal about six months ago and never regretted it. You do amazing work. Today I compared the Pride and Joy to a vintage ts808.
The only difference in the two is that yours has better and more sensitive controls. If I had my eyes closed I would not be able to tell the difference between the two.
Why spend 500 bucks on vintage that may not be reliable when you can get equally superb tone for over half the price.
Everyone in the store was impressed with the tone from your pedal. Its nice to be envied sometimes.
